One Nine Elms, Vauxhall, London

Client: Green Property/CIT Group
Architect: Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF)

One Nine Elms is a residentially led mixed-use scheme comprising approximately 500 high value residential units, a 200 bedroom hotel, 11,500sqm of office floor space, and ancillary retail / restaurant uses. The proposal envisages the construction of two tall towers, located at the centre of the emerging Vauxhall cluster with the tallest being 199.9 metres in height. The plans include a high quality public realm which will link the site with the entrance to the Linear Park that forms an important element of the VNEB Opportunity Area proposals. The project not only involved fully assessing and mitigating the traffic and transport impact of the proposal but also included liaising with key stakeholders to ensure the development integrated with the wider aspirations for the whole of the VNEB Opportunity Area. Traffic and transport issues were agreed with the local and strategic highway authorities and the application was granted planning permission in June 2012.
